What ReferMap is
ReferMap shows which companies are hiring in a city and connects job seekers with verified employees who may choose to refer them. We are not an employer, a recruiter or a staffing agency. We do not run any company's hiring, take job applications, or decide who gets an interview.
A referral or an interview is never guaranteed. A referrer submits you through their own company's process, and the company decides what happens next.
Who can use it
You must be at least 18, and you may hold one account. What you tell us about yourself, your resume and where you work must be true. You are responsible for what happens on your account, so keep your sign-in email secure.
By creating an account or using ReferMap you agree to these terms and to the privacy policy. This is an electronic record under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and needs no physical or digital signature. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
What you pay for
The map, job lists and a free plan cost nothing. Seekers who want more requests pay ReferMap a monthly fee for access and a number of request credits, or buy a pack of extra credits. You never pay a referrer, and a referrer may never ask you for money, gifts or favours. If a referrer does, report them and we will act.
Credits reset every month and do not roll over. A credit is only used when your referral is submitted. It is held while a request is open, and comes back if the referrer declines, does not reply within 72 hours, does not submit in time, or you cancel before it is submitted. A referral or an interview is never guaranteed, and a credit spent on a submitted referral is not a promise of either.
The price, currency and any tax are shown before you pay, in Indian rupees or US dollars by where you live. Prices in India include 18% GST; elsewhere tax is added at checkout where the law requires it. Payments are handled by Dodo Payments, our payment partner and merchant of record: it takes your payment, collects the tax and issues your invoice. We never see or store your card number.
A paid plan renews every month at the price you saw when you subscribed, until you cancel. Your bank or payment method may ask you to approve a renewal or send you a notice before it. If we change a price we will tell you at least 30 days before your next renewal, and the new price applies only if you let the plan renew.
Cancelling and refunds
You can cancel a paid plan whenever you like from billing in settings. You keep what you paid for until the end of the month you are in, it does not renew, and we charge no cancellation fee. A move to a smaller plan starts at your next renewal.
If you were charged by mistake, charged twice, or paid and did not receive the plan or credits, tell us through the contact page within 14 days of the charge and we will refund it in full, to the payment method you used. Credits you have already spent on a submitted referral are not refunded because a referral did not lead to an interview or an offer, since that is outside our control. If a payment is refunded, we take back the credits it gave that you have not spent. Refunds reach you in the time your bank or payment method takes, usually within 7 to 10 working days.
Job listings
The map and job lists are free for everyone. Most jobs are read from the public job boards that companies publish themselves, and each one links to the company's own page, where you apply. A job can be filled, changed or taken down before we notice, so check the company's page before you rely on a listing. We do not endorse any company or role, and a listing does not mean a company has agreed to work with ReferMap.
Some roles are posted by employees of the company and are only visible when you are signed in. How we read job boards is explained on the ReferMapBot page.
Rules for seekers
Ask for referrals only for roles you could genuinely do, and only with a resume that is yours and accurate. Do not send the same request to many people, ask a referrer to bend their company's rules, or share contact details to move a conversation off ReferMap. We may limit requests that do not fit a role, and we show you how your resume matches before you send.
Rules for referrers
You must work at the company you verify with, and you must verify with your own work email. People who work in recruiting, HR or talent acquisition cannot be referrers. You stay anonymous to seekers: we show a handle, never your name, email, phone or photo.
Rewards are paid by ReferMap from a capped monthly pool and split by points. They are not a promise of income, they depend on a hire being confirmed and passing probation, and rewards may not be switched on during early access. Check your employer's policy on referrals and rewards before you take part; you are responsible for following it. You are also responsible for any tax on a reward you receive. Where the law requires it we may ask for your PAN or other tax details and deduct tax before we pay you.
Posting a role you have no right to share, or asking a seeker for payment, gets the post removed and can end your verification.
Conduct
Do not harass anyone, submit false information or documents, try to find out who a referrer is, scrape or copy the service, or break the law. Messages are scanned for contact details, payment requests and abuse, and flagged messages are reviewed by our team. You can report any message or role.
Do not upload, post or send anything that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene or harmful to children, that infringes someone's copyright, trademark or other right, that pretends to be another person or company, that carries a virus or harmful code, or that threatens the unity, integrity, defence or security of India or public order. We may remove such content, and end access, without notice when we learn of it, including when a court or a government agency orders us to. To report something, use the contact page.
What you upload
Your resume and profile stay yours. You give ReferMap permission to store and process them to run the service: to read your skills, show a referrer a summary of your resume before they decide, and, after they accept, the file and contact details they need to submit you. You can delete your data at any time from settings. You confirm that you have the right to upload what you upload.
Ownership and company names
ReferMap, its design, software and the way it is put together belong to us. We give you a personal, non-exclusive right to use the service while you follow these terms; you may not copy it, resell it or build a competing service from it. Company names and logos belong to those companies and are shown only to identify them, not to suggest that they endorse ReferMap.
Companies
If you are a company and want us to stop listing your jobs, tell us on the contact page and we will act within one working day.
Accounts and suspension
We can suspend an account that breaks these terms. A suspended referrer leaves the map, and requests waiting on them expire with the credit refunded. You can close your account whenever you like. When an account closes, your access ends and your data is handled as the privacy policy says; anything that must survive to make sense, such as the sections on content, ownership, liability and disputes, stays in force.
Liability
ReferMap is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for hiring outcomes, for what a company decides, for the accuracy of a job listing, or for losses that come from relying on a referral. Our total liability to you for any claim about the service is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect losses such as lost income or a missed job. You agree to cover the losses we suffer because you broke these terms or the law. Nothing in these terms limits a right you have by law that cannot be limited, including your rights as a consumer under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
Changes
We may change these terms. We will change the date above and, for a change that matters, tell you in the app or by email before it applies. If you keep using ReferMap after the change applies, you accept it; if you do not, you can close your account.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Please write to the grievance officer below first; most problems are settled that way. If one is not, the courts at Bengaluru have jurisdiction, without limiting your right to approach a consumer commission or any other forum the law gives you.
General
If a part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we have not given it up. These terms, the privacy policy and the prices shown at checkout are the whole agreement between you and us. We are not liable for a delay or failure caused by something outside our control, such as an outage at a provider, a strike or a government order. You may not transfer your account to anyone.
Grievance officer
Under the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, our grievance officer handles complaints about the service, content and billing. We acknowledge a complaint within 24 hours and resolve it within 15 days. Use the contact page and choose “A complaint”.
